Colloquium: ICEE Space (registration mandatory)
20/10/2022 @ 14:00 - 15:00 CEST
FreeAbout:
ICEE Space is an international space test, research, and development start-up for future human space exploration. Multi-planetary civilisation is a long-term ambition that will only be achievable with technical and social innovation alike. As space missions are costly, time-consuming, and involve a high risk, analogous missions on Earth have sprung out to be an alternative to re-create what astronauts will experience in space. The Construction of a Habitat inside a Lunar Analogue Lavatube in ICEland (CHILL-ICE) campaign is the flagship analogue mission of ICEE.Space and focuses on testing robotics, habitat in extreme environments, space suit design and human performance. Its latest campaign took place last August 2022 where a selected crew of 3 analogue astronauts lived for 7 days 130 metres inside a lavatube to assess their suitability for long term settlement. With these campaigns, ICEE.Space makes space exploration more accessible for research, industry, and space enthusiasts alike. It allows to discover more about our planet, and beyond – from into the Earth to into the universe.
