Lunch Lecture ESA: Gaia and Juice

This Lunch Lecture will address key features of two science missions of the European Space Agency: Gaia and Juice. Gaia was launched in 2013 and just recently terminated its duty, mapping billions of stars, but not only, of our galaxy. Juice was launched in 2023 and is now in route to Jupiter to explore the Jovian system and in particular the icy moons Europa, Ganymede and Callisto.
Giuseppe Sarri holds a Master Degree with Honors in Nuclear Engineering. After working few years in industry, he joined ESA in 1989. Starting with the Columbus program he was always involved in the development of projects. He has been the Payload Manager of Integral, the Project Manager of Gaia and the Project Manager of Juice. He also gave contributions to the Planck mission and to the French mission Microscope. Giuseppe Sarri is now retired.
